StationRipper has the ability to save music thats played on internet Radio, shoutcast for example, and then it saves the song information including the band title, the song, and with the newest released version the cd artwork. The song is then compressed into a high quality Mp3. The quality of the MP3 depends mostly on the quality of the internet station thats being streamed.
*If you want the song information stored and individual tracks to be ripped, make sure to choose a internet station that shows the song titles in its stream. Some stations don’t display track titles only the station name. In this case, rip the station and you will end up with one long mp3 file and not individual tracks.
Downsides?
Ripping music from Internet Radio results in lower quality music. Sometimes the ripper catches the song too late after it starts and some of the song ends up missing.
Where to Find Streaming Stations?
1. Shoutcast.com
2. Last.fm

One note on Quality – StationRipper records whatever bitrate the station is broadcasting in – it does not reduce the quality.
So if the station is a low quality one, you’ll have low quality MP3’s. If it’s broadcasting in CD quality, then you’ll get that.
I personally don’t record in anything less than 128bit (lots of stations at that or better!)
