Tips for Getting a Blog Job
Published by Nick on August 5th, 2007 | Tagged jobs

Getting a new blog writing position is not so simple. It is necessary to find a way to distinguish yourself from the other candidates out there.

Step 1: Where to find a Blog Job?
1.Problogger’s job board
2.WAHM.com

Step 2: Application
Read the application requirements completely. Every job wants something different. Find a way to fullfil it. One example: Sports writer. Include examples in your application stating how you have worked for sports and why you are so eager to write about it.

Step 3: Include Examples
Include writing examples. Since writing my blogs I have developed a large portfolio of examples. One way to start is to actually create your own blog that the employer can look at as an example of your work. Read my Blog Basics Post as a way to get started.

Step 4: Don’t give up
Not every job is meant for you. Keep your eyes open for new positions. In the meantime develop your own blog as a way to increase your employability. Use it as proof that you are able to write good blogs and that you are consistent with your work.
