Vacationing and Blogging, What happens?

Vacation and Blogging should come hand in hand. You can write your blogs from anywhere, or write your blogs ahead of time so that they automatically post at a specific time (use the time date feature.) Going on a vacation while blogging does not have to mean lower traffic.

My Blogging Vacation

As I travel, I make sure to update my blogs when I have time. However, even when I haven’t done anything to them. I’ve noticed only a slight drop in the number of people visiting my site. This is thanks to Google.

Google Can Help

Even when you don’t write anything to your blog, people are still going to find it through search engines. Try using Google Analytics. It will show you what percent of your blogger come from which traffic source. I rely on the fact that 40% of the viewers of this blog come direct from Google. That means I could expect to get 40% of my normal traffic without updating my site. Another 28 percent comes from Digg. As soon as a blog is finished, I post it on Digg. (See the link below).

Friends are there too

The best solution I could come up with for Blogging and Vacationing is to hire a friend, or something else to take over things while you are gone. Let them do the updating, submit your site to Digg so while you are relaxing on the Beach you won’t have to worry about your Blog.
