The Smashing Pumpkins did it with their unsigned album Machina II, The Offspring intended to release a free album back in the days of Napster, and now Radiohead has released their newest album In Rainbows completely free on the internet.
Completely Free?
Basically Radiohead has decided that you can decide how much you want to pay for their new album In Rainbows. On their official site, it will bring you to checkout point at which the price will say ?. There you fill in the price. If you put $0. That is perfectly fine. Is it worth the download? Definitely, but don’t expect their music to be as good as their previous albums.
Duped by the Free Radiohead album In Rainbows Sound Quality?
Fans have suggested that they have been duped with the 160 kbps download quality that Radiohead has released the songs in. 192 kbps is considered the minimal sound quality anyone would want with mp3s. Anything less is considered minimal and basically the free Radiohead album In Rainbow, should not be paid for at all.
Overall the album is great for a listen. If you care so much about the sound quality, wait for the album to come out, but if you want to hear the album now. Visit this site and download the album.

You’ve got the name of the album wrong. It’s In Rainbows. The admin is right. It’s an album, not a cd. Lastly, the rapid flow of knowledge in the technological age makes this kind of old news.

Thanks for the tip, I’m used to calling this Cd, even when its sitting on my Mp3 player, thanks for informing me of the missing S, I posted this one, just because it was something free and still a couple people might not have gotten to the download yet

bitching about a “free album”, your lame. Go make music, stuff that is creative and unique and go put it out for the masses for free. Can’t? Didn’t think so.
For normal people who want smaller files and can’t truly tell the diff between 128 and 192 who cares? Only you who bitch and moan about a free meal.

Radiohead is amazing and unique. They are brilliant, and i think that many underestimate their beauty. Buy the cd for what you think its worth. I think its worth a good deal, theyre music is lovely. Buy the cd if your worried about the quality of the songs, the true queality of the songs is worth the money spent.
