I always wondered why www.tv-links.co.uk was shutdown and not working. After reading a story on p2p.net I figured out exactly why the site is shutdown and the tv-links owner now faces jailtime.
“TV Links was a “major target†in a campaign to crackdown on web piracy. TV Links ‘users’ were potentially evading licence fees, subscription fees to digital services or the cost of purchase or admittance to cinemas to view the films. A 26-year-old Briton has ben arrested in connection with offences relating to the facilitation of copyright infringement on the internet.”
Be careful what you share
It seems that just redirecting users to free movies is now a crime. My advice? Don’t provide anything that could be considered illegal on your website. While it seems the other sites redirecting users haven’t been shutdown, it would be better to avoid making this site unless you don’t mind risking the potential consequences such as jail time.

That is cowardly and foolish!
You are saying that we should be afraid of authorities who threaten to arrest and prosecute those that do not partake in directly illegal activity?
I say that we fight for the justice of the law and ask prosecutors to refrain from raiding sites that merely link to where possible illegal activity is taking place.
If it is illegal to host copyrighted videos, prosecute instead those that are hosting them.

It should seem that Google as well as millions of people that upload videos on Youtube should all be prosecuted as well.

There’s nothing to discuss. I think everyone will agree with me when i say that what happened with TV-Links was totally unfair and goes against the world’s entire web community. i just hope they don’t end up winning… just in case, here i leave you the best replacement for tv-links that i cuold find: http://www.sidereel.com they have almost all tv series, tons of movies and music vids… he he and there’s also stage 6 or Daily Motion, we have lots of alternativeeeees..!

It’s really sad this great site was shutdown, i used it a lot, FACT are just afraid to tackle the big players (Google, you tube, daily-motion Etc.) so they go after the smaller sites. Linking to other sites is not illegal, i hope the webmaster walks free and sets up an even better site…

it is dishonorable and inexcusible to arrest the previous owners of:

why not arrest the hosters of the site? they are the ones who are wrong, like what carlos said. and if arresting the previous owners of: http://www.tv-links.co.uk , the people who uploads movies on sites should also be prosecuted too! i can’t beleive that the people have to be in this situation of some empty-minded people.

if anything should’nt they congratulate tv-links? they have givven FACT a list of several illeagle websitewich are breaking the law. i am seriously upset about the shut down of tv-links it was an amazing site and rarely failed me. i only hope the guys who were caught dont get too much trouble.
