I always wondered why www.tv-links.co.uk was shutdown and not working. After reading a story on p2p.net I figured out exactly why the site is shutdown and the tv-links owner now faces jailtime.
“TV Links was a “major target†in a campaign to crackdown on web piracy. TV Links ‘users’ were potentially evading licence fees, subscription fees to digital services or the cost of purchase or admittance to cinemas to view the films. A 26-year-old Briton has ben arrested in connection with offences relating to the facilitation of copyright infringement on the internet.”
Be careful what you share
It seems that just redirecting users to free movies is now a crime. My advice? Don’t provide anything that could be considered illegal on your website. While it seems the other sites redirecting users haven’t been shutdown, it would be better to avoid making this site unless you don’t mind risking the potential consequences such as jail time.
