Americans spend about $25 billion each year on lottery tickets dreaming of winning. The odds are definitely against you. We see images of the Rich living Rich and almost everyone wants a way in, a chance to live like them. What if you look Rich, yet spend less, live Cheap?

Buy used Cars
Considering buying a five-year-old car like a BMW. The payments for a brand-new Honda will be exactly the same. But in five years, that Honda wont be worth as much as the BMW. The BMW will last longer, its higher quality, its got more style. You can better cars for less money that are a couple years old, then buying a brand new car. Buy older cars, yet have better looking cars.

Travel Cheaper, Be Flexible
Living cheap does require a bit of flexibility. Say you always dreamed of seeing Europe. Do you really need sun and sand? Flying in the winter is incredibly cheaper than in the summer. I spent $500 to go round trip from Chicago to Frankfurt. In the Summer that cost me close to $1000. Stay in a hostel. Though a youth hostel isn’t your dream stay, they do offer private rooms. These rooms cost far below what you would spend at a normal hotel. Plus youth hostel have a bit more culture to them. You will meet far more interesting people at a hostel than a hotel. (I met some really good friends this way).

Spend twice as much on clothes, buy half as much
Need a great way to cut down on your over sized closet? Why buy countless amounts of clothes with less quality? Buying clothes that are twice as nice will lower the amount of clothes you buy. It will also give you clothes that stay in style longer, last longer and actually give you more confidence. Confidence? If you wear better quality clothes you are likely to feel more confident than wearing cheap clothes.

Do I live like this?
We can’t all make a million, whether it be from the Internet, great investments, or just plain luck. But that doesn’t mean I look like I earn. Think smart and you can look like you make much more than you really do by living cheap.
