Johnny Depp’s presence in the movie Willy Wonka in “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory led to the movie making $500 million. Was it his role in the movie that led to so many sales. His role was a darker more true to the version book of Willie Wonka. It seems when Johnny and Tim Burton team up, they don’t only make seeminly dark movies, but also plenty of money.

What about ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest’s record breaking weekend opening. It made $132-million in its opening weekend in North America. Is it Johnny’s star power that helps make movies sell. In this movie he relived his role of Captain Jack and many would agree he certainly plays the part. My favorite role in the movie, was his short appearance as leader of the strange African Indian Tribe. The one he is found later running from when later met up with by Will Turner.

Now comes the movie Sweeney Todd, a film by Tim Burton. Is it Johnny Depp will turn this film into a success, or are his days numbered? The movie is actually an adaptation of the play version which features a barber, did anyone think of Edward Scissor Hands?
