What is Ecpm rate? Earning Money with Adsense
Published by Nick on December 14th, 2007 | Tagged monetize

Why did I earn $60.10 two days ago with adsense, yet yesterday I earned only $50 with the same amount of traffic? What is CTR, eCPM, or Page Keywords and how do they affect how much earnings I make money, even though I receive the same traffic?

These are 3 factors that will effect how much you earn
1. CTR (Click through Rate) - Your click through rate is what percent of the users that visit your blog are clicking on your ads. My average is 4.22%. Anything less than 3% is probably a problem of your ad placement. Try repositioning your ads until you get a better click through rate.

2. Page eCPM - This is your earnings per one thousand visitors. This is the main reason for the $10 difference in earnings. When your earnings per thousand is $4 one day, and $5 the next, the difference really shows when you are dealing with 10,000 users everyday.

3. Page Keywords – What is the topic of your site? Did you know that different keywords pay different amounts? A site about lawyers maybe pay more than a website about dogs. Would you believe that, auto insurance quote = $57.18, college loan consolidation = $53.52, and car insurance quote = $46.89. This means that ads with these three topics usually pays $57, $53, and $46. What if my eCPM was $40 instead of $4? I would make $400 instead of $40.

If you haven’t signed up for adsense yet, it is the main money maker on my blog, and it could be yours too. Sign up for Adsense.
