Finally, I’ve reached an Alexa ranking of under 100,000. Getting this better Alexa ranking took patience and goal setting. After 8 months, my ranking is finally 99,337. This means better ad sponsors and more revenue for this site. Since I’ve reached this goal, it’s only time to set forth and try to reach 10,000. (Lower numbers are better). Yahoo for instance is number 1.
How to get a better Alexa Ranking?
Get the Alexa Toolbar. By viewing your own websites with the Alexa toolbar you can give yourself a better Alexa ranking. Since after installing the toolbar, I noticed quick improvements in my Alexa ranking. Encourage your friends with Alexa toolbars to visit your website daily and encourage all your readers to download the toolbar
Get the Alexa Tool Bar
Get Alexa via this link. The nice thing about the toolbar is, it will show the traffic ranking of every website you visit. This makes it easy to compare traffic between two websites. You can also help me reach my goal of 10,000 by downloading the toolbar.
What is an Alexa Ranking?
It ranks websites based on traffic. 1=most trafficked site on the internet. 100,000=100,000th most trafficked site on the internet. “The traffic rank is based on three months of traffic data from millions of Alexa Toolbar users and is a combined measure of page views and users (reach). As a first step, Alexa computes the reach and number of page views for all sites on the Web on a daily basis.” -Alexa.com. In other words, your rank is decided between Alexa users alone. This does leave margin of error. Say for instance your site was trafficed by 100% Alexa users, this would ultimately give you a better Alexa ranking over even sites with more traffic.
