Make your own Cleaning Supplies: Save Money

Finding that Windex has suddenly become too expensive for some strange reason? Just make your own cleaning supplies and save money in the process.

Make Your Own: Carpet Cleaning Solution
Combine 3/4 cup baking soda, 2 tbsp corn starch, and 1/4 cup perfumed talcum powder. Sprinkle on dry carpet, let stand 5 to 15 minutes, then vacuum.

Make Your Own: Homemade Window Glass Cleaning Solution
1/2 cup vinegar to 1 gallon of water (or 2 tablespoons per quart) OR
1/2 cup sudsy ammonia to 1 gallon water (or 2 tablespoons per quart)

Make Your Own: Toilet Bowl Cleaning Solution
Pour 1/4 cup full strength chlorine bleach OR 1/2 cup full strength ammonia into bowl. Swish with a bowl brush and flush.

Whatever you do, never mix ammonia and bleach together. You might think, man this will clean even better. Then you’ll start to see things, you’ll want to take a nap and before you know it I’ll be reading your obituary as a comment to this post…

    Carpet cleaning tips:

Regular vacuuming is not enough to ensure a clean and hygienic carpet. Dirt particles and oil particles and smudges cling to the carpet fibers. Professional hot water extraction process every 12 to 18 months is what we would recommend your carpet cleaning needs, which will ensure that your carpet exudes a fresh appearance always.
