Make Money from Digg: Make Money

Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

Can you get paid digging diggs on digg? The new service user/submitter will pay you .50 for every 3 stories you digg. Sounds simple right?

Making Money from Digg
It would be if there were stories to digg. I just signed up today thinking I would digg a couple hundred stories, yet there wasn’t a single story to digg. Not enough people signing up for the service? How it works: You sign up for User/Submitter and add their RSS feed to your account. Once stories start to appear, you simply digg them and money will start to build up into your account. After you have made $20 from digging, they will pay you $20 to your paypal account.

Buying Diggs
On the other side of the token, you could use this service to buy Diggs to boost your story to the front page of Digg. Why would you want to do this? Being on the front page of Digg can lead to hundreds, maybe even thousands of views to your site which my mean that you actually earn more than you spent. But, you will have to spent $1 per desired Digg, this effectively means that the service earns $0.66 for every $0.33 they pay their diggers. Not a bad profit scheme. On top of that, you have to spend $20 just to register.

Send Mail for Free: Save Money

Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

Want to send mail the old slow way? Now there are two ways to do it for free, cost in money? Free.

1. Free Email to Mail Service – Feeling DejaVu? I wrote about this post earlier. Basically, esnailer.com will print and mail and text message to anyone in the USA. I don’t trust this service 100%. I sent a letter to myself and received some crazy message about a girl wanting money from her dad.

2. Free Postcard – Create your own postcard and have it delivered for free with Jungle Top. I created a “sweet” postcard and sent it to my girlfriend. It will be mailed via Royal Mail from the UK. It works internationally and for signing up you receive 2.50 pounds in credit (two mailings worth).
Other great ideas? Rather than collecting postcards during your vacation. Upload a great scenic shot. Upload it to Jungle Top and send it for free.

US Government Stimulus Package – Get Money

Monday, January 28th, 2008

Can the US avoid an upcoming recession with a US Government Stimulus Package? George Bush and fellow leaders have agreed to spend $150 billion on a Stimulus Package. What does this mean?

This means:
Most single taxpayers get $600. Other two-wage households could get at least $1,200. Children net an additional $300 per child. This adds up to a total of 116 million taxpayers that will benefit.

But…
If you earn more than $75,000 and higher, consider yourself not included in the deal…These high money makers get nothing or a reduced check at the most…

What would you do with $600? Me? Pay off more of my student loans…

How to Increase Traffic to your Blog

Monday, January 28th, 2008

I received an email yesterday from “The Bet” asking how to increase traffic to a blog. When I started this blog, I started out like everybody else with blog traffic. I was happy when traffic to my blog was 25 visitors.

How I increased Traffic to my Blog: Patience
Patience. You need to build up blog posts before you can expect to get a lot of traffic. ClickforNick.com has over 1000 posts built up over the course of the last 8 months. It was after about 5 months that I hit my first 1000 visitors in one day. Since then, everything took off, bringing me 6000 visitors per day.

How I increase Traffic to my Blog: Blog Titles
Titles are very important for the search engine. When I write titles, I try to imagine what people are search for. For instance, take the case of Franco’s 2nd blog post. He titled it “Poker isn’t that Gambling?” What he should have wrote is, “Poker Gambling: Gambling in Poker”. I would have started the first sentence out as: Here is why poker is gambling. When gambling in poker…

When someone searches for “Poker Gambling” in Google, Google’s search engine is going to find Francos blog and pick up the following:
Poker Gambling: Gambling in Poker” – Here is why poker is gambling. When gambling in poker

Search Engine Results are Critical
When starting out a new blog, good search engine results are critical. Unless you have money to spend on advertising, this is going to be the best way to increase traffic to your blog. We can’t simply write whatever we want. Rather, your posts need to be written in such a way that you use the keywords you used in your title all through out your entire post. Repetition is key. Repeat your keywords over and over.

Feedburner: Gain loyal users
The last recommendation I have for increasing traffic to your blog is signing up for feedburner. This builds a community and loyalty to your blog. Once the majority of your blog traffic comes from visitors visiting constantly and from other websites linking directly to your blog, you can start to write posts however you want, since you won’t be as reliant on search engines. But, before you have a constant visitors, make Google your best friend.
