Save Money on Books, Book Swim: Save Money

I’ve often recommended visiting the library as a great way to save money on books, but what if you can’t save money on books because you don’t live by the library? The newest thing since Netflix is Book Swim.

Book Swim: Save Money on Books
Don’t buy your books, rent them! Book Swim ships the books to you, you read the books, ship the back and new books get sent out. There is no shipping fee, just a monthly fee starting at $14.99. If you read a lot, this is definitely a great option, yet if you are like me and read one book per month, or read slow, this is probably not the best way to go. You won’t be getting new books until you send back the ones you’ve read in any case.

Half.com: Save Money on Books
Every school year, I always spent a lot of time looking on half.com for books. Why? The local college bookstore was always very expensive! But, half.com is not only great for college books, I’ve picked up used books in near perfect condition for as low as 70% off the cover price. Out of all the books I’ve ordered, I’ve never had a quality problem.

The Library: Save Money on Books
I’ll mention it again, the library can’t be beat when it comes to the ability to save money on books. The card is free, renting books is free, and you get three weeks to read them! The question is, how many books have you read a second time after purchasing them?
