Save Money: Save Money on Water

So we make money, but we can cut our costs at the same time. Water is yet another area we could all cut down in order to save money. Though we don’t all want to be taking 1 minute showers, I wrote a post earlier about Navy Showers a way to reduce your water usage. But, what other ways can we save money on water at home?

Only Wash When Full
Don’t wash your dishwasher or washing machine when it’s not full. The best way to save money is to only run them when they are full. By doing only half loads, you are essentially just wasting water.

Low Volume Water Appliances?
By slowing down the amount of water running through your shower and getting a toilet that uses less water, you can also use much less water. Full pressure showers do feel better, but they are using much more water than needed.

Save Money Doing The Dishes?
Are you one who just lets the water run over your dishes while cleaning them? Instead, soak them. Let pans get soaked up instead of scraping them and soaking them. An easy way to waste water is scraping your dishes while letting water run over them. Soak, then quick rinse.

Definitely what you said were true. We not only need to save money on water but conserve our usage as well.Water maybe a renewable resource, but with all the global warming signs showing now, we need to use water prudently.

I have a tip. You know the cold water that is in the hot water lines? Most of us run it down the drain while waiting for our warm shower. I fill a bucket with that cold water and use it to either flush the toilet or water plants.

I have a solar water heater, so there is cold water in the line all the way from the roof. You may not have as much cooled off water in your hot water line.
