After two days of hard work, yes two days, I’ve been successful at moving from Blogger to Wordpress. Moving from Blogger to Wordpress was probably one of the best moves I’ve made, since not only do I have a cleaner design, more support, and a lot of better plug ins, but I no longer have to rely on blogger.
How it’s done: Moving from Blogger to Wordpress
If you’ve also though about moving from Blogger to Wordpress, it is not as hard as you would imagine.
1. You’ll need to visit Wordpress.org and get the latest installation of Wordpress.
2.Download and unzip wp-maintain-blogger-permalinks-1.0.zip
3. Upload the file wp-maintain-blogger-permalinks.php to your plugins directory, /path/to/wordpress/wp-content/plugins
4. Activate the plugin
5. Under Manage > Maintain Blogger Permalinks click the button that says Maintain Blogger Permalinks
6. Change your permalinks to custom and add in: /%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%.html
So enjoy the new site, I spent a long designing this to look somewhat like the old one. You might also notice that the new Wordpress site is much easier manage, just try clicking one of the categories on my menu, you’ll see what I mean.
