Get Paid Receiving Phone Calls: Brring free call forwarding

Sunday, February 24th, 2008

What if you got paid every time someone called you?  Brring is a free call forwarding service that you get paid for receiving phone calls from your free call forwarding number.  Most numbers are even in the same area code.

How it works
You sign up for Brring.  They give you a free number that forwards calls to your home number.  Every time someone calls this number they will be played a short ad.  Each time this ad is played from an incoming call, you receive 5 cents, though im assuming the rate is more going to be around 10 cents.  Sounds overall quite annoying, yet the ads are only 10 seconds long.  10 seconds, 5 cents, is it worth it?

4 Ways to Earn with Brring
1. Earn 75¢ every time you complete a profile to help choose the messages your friends like best.  2. Earn $1 every time you get a friend to join Brring!. 3. Earn 5¢ each time you successfully share your new Brring! number. 4. Every time you get a call on your Brring! number you earn 5¢.

Does Sex Sell? Yes, Sex Sells

Saturday, February 23rd, 2008

Of course we all knew sex sells.  Just think, YouPorn.com has barely been out on the internet and it is already the 31 most visited site on the internet.  YouPorn.com made amazing increases in internet traffic, not by selling sex, but letting you post your own sex videos on the net. In return they make tons of money with advertising related to sex.

My venture to sell sex
I decided if YouPorn can sell sex, can’t I do it to?  I started ShowtheClip.com with the intention of giving out celebrity news.  Quickly I noticed that my most trafficked posts had to do with girls either naked or in their underwear.  My most trafficked post, Miley Cyrus Underwear Photos accounted for half of the traffic on this blog accounting to already 50 comments.

Hot Girls Draw Comments
Just put some hot girls on your blog and watch the comments in.  Sounds simply, well actually its not.  But, we know what guys have on their mind.  I’ve heard statistics that guys think about sex every 7 seconds.  Though that’s probably not true, I wouldn’t doubt it for some guys.  Photo from hotgirlarchives.com

Best Ad placement for Adsense: Increase Google CTR

Friday, February 22nd, 2008

This month, I decided to try to find the best placement for adsense.  My Google CTR was around 4%, which is not bad, but I was determinded to find the best overall ad placement for the highest increase in Google CTR.

Use Google’s Heatmap
Google released a heatmap which supposedly shows the best placement for your ads.  Generally, the best CTR is earned on ads placed on the left side of your website as readers tend to read left to right.  Therefore your eyes naturally view the left first.  Also, positioning articles on the top of posts also can guarantee higher CTR (click through rates).

My Ad Placement
After moving my ads from the right side of my website to the left, I noticed not only a CTR 3% higher than usually, but that also led to a higher ecpm rate, (the amount I earn per 1000 page impressions.  Just by making a small change on my site has lead to increased earnings, even with the same amount of page impressions per day.

Don’t settle
Never settle with what you earn.  Just as you probably never settle your appearance (we all want to be perfect tens) neither should you settle with your blog income.  Continue to experiment and see what works the best for you.

The picture below is a typical adsense setup.   Red is highly clicked, Orange second highest, Tan third, and white are your cold regions.

How to Spot a Fake Listing on eBay

Thursday, February 21st, 2008

Buying on eBay might seem somewhat safe, but there are actually quite a lot of fake listings on eBay that you should be aware of. There is a large amount of trust to know whether the eBay listing you won is actually going to get shipped. Secondly, is the eBay listing the same as the product you received? The following tips are a great way to spot a fake listing on eBay.

Exam eBay feedback scores
What is the sellers feedback score?  Often fake eBay listings will have low feedback scores or none at all. A company with good positive scores is a good sign that the company is trustable. Companies that have over 100 comments all from unique buyers is also a good sign that you can trust this seller.

Is the seller using multiple usernames?
It is common practice by some sellers to make the prices raise up by creating multiple ids and raising up the price that way.  Check out other auctions by the seller and see if user names bid on every auction, but never win.  If you do see this trend, make sure to contact eBay’s safeharbor team.

Is the eBay listing too good to be true?
Xbox 360 for $50, buy it now?  Some sellers users coax buyers by listing buy it now prices well beyond the normal price.  Do a quick price check before purchasing the item. fake ebay listing guides rather than actual products, or how to get this produce for free information.  If it seems ridiculously low, try to find out why.  Sometimes users will sell plans and Keep in mind that auctions always start out low and continue to raise as it gets closer to the end date of purchase.

Default Bidder?
Did the seller email you and tell you the winner defaulted so you are now the winner?  Be a bit suspicious.  Though it is possible that this is the case, the seller receives the email of each user that bid on the item and can try to scam everyone who bid on the item.
