Just today I realized just how international my life has become. Everything I do, from working, to reading, to just eating food is international.
Working International
I actual just started working in China at a language school teaching kids english, but the best part is, I do it from Germany over Skype. I hold one hour sessions getting paid a good Chinese wage, which is not much in comparison to Western standards, but it’s more fun than anything else.
Secondly, I write a blog that has subscribers from all over the globe. My work is read from everywhere from Hong Kong to Canada. Remember, that on the internet, think global. Your readers are going to come from all over the globe, not just from America, or wherever you live.
Reading International
You might not realize it, but those “blogs” you read are actual written from places all over the world. Though it’s written in English, don’t dismiss the fact that the guy writing it could be living in Congo, Argentina, or even Zimbabwe. The internet is the most level playing ground I could ever imagine. Here, everyone in the world has the right to participate, political borders can’t stop me from working in China from Germany, or for me to hire a secretary in India.
Eating International
Just what is native food anymore? One day I’ll be eating Italian, the next day Mexican, and the third a mix of Mexican and Chinese, just what is a countries national dish anymore? It seems that the more contact countries have with each other the more things get blended mixed togeter and soon enough you don’t even know what belongs to which country.
Rather than try to resist other cultures from assimilating into your own, why not embrace the change. The internet is changing our lives in more ways than imaginable. Though you wouldn’t notice it, everyday you are connecting with people across the globe.
