So if you want to start advertising with Google Adwords, a good choice I might add since I find this to be the most effective, you need to start planning how you want to run this campaign. A few questions to ask yourself: 1. What is my overall goal with this campaign? 2. What kind of users am I trying to attract? 3. How much am I willing to spend?

Creating your first Google Adwords Campaign
1. Build a landing page. I use my landing page to try to convert anyone who clicks of my Google ad into a subscriber. I want people visiting more than just once. To get a good idea of what I mean, view my TV Online landing page.

2. Create a Google Adwords ad. This is the ad that will be displayed on Google’s search engine and websites that use the Google Adsene ad program. Generally an ad looks like the following:

Create multiple ads and test each one to see which leads to the best performance. Keep in mind the goal isn’t to get the most clicks, rather we want to convert those clicks into viewers. Keep track of how many people clicked on your ads and subscribed (if that’s your goal). This is a great way to measure how well the campaign is working.

3. Start picking the keywords you want to advertise with. Don’t try just a few, try misspellings, different phrases, as well as different word orders. Keep in mind that these keywords need to relate to your ad, as well as your landing page. If your keywords are Hot Bikini Girls, yet your landing page is about Playstation 3 videos games, not only does that not make any sense, but Google most likely won’t allow it.

4. Set a daily limit for your campaign. How much do you want to spend? Just keep in mind that Google Adwords can be written off against your taxes. But, your blog has to earn an income in order for you to have any taxes to pay.

5. Check your campaign each day. You don’t want to continue running a lousy campaign.
