How much does money matter?

The biggest thought I’ve had today is, how much does money really mean to you and does having more money really make you any happier? As I’ve started making more and more in my personal life, I’ve noticed a few aspects of my life that are better due to that fact that I have been earning more and more money.

1.Money=Stability. With money comes financial stability. The more money you have, the safer you feel. The lack of money often creates unstable relationships and can tend to break up marriages. Those who don’t worry about money, often can have happier marriages due to the lack of strain of the relationship moneywise

2. How much is enough to matter? I’ve noticed that the difference between a $30,000 income and a $50,000 income is luxury. The more money you have the more luxury you have. Though the person making a decent $30,000 income isn’t really worried about money, they do have to cut back in their daily life. The person making a cool $50,000 often can enjoy getting a few beers at an expensive nightclub, afford newer cars, and go more often on vacation. Does this mean a happier life? No, just a more luxurious one.

3. Money as a showoff tool. For those who like to show everyone how much „better“ they really are, money is one of the easiest tools. These people are often seen wearing the best designer clothing, driving the fastest car, and living in the largest house, just to show how much „better“ they really are. Take for example the singer 50 cent, who grew up poor. He loves to show off his new found richness by owning a large playboy mansion as well as a collection of cars that would make anyone envious.

4. Money and Dating. Have you ever noticed that it’s usual that people of the same financial standing tend to date? Rich go with Rich, Poor go with poor. So is life. Of all the girls I’ve dated they were all middle class. It seems problematic when one member of the relationship just has plenty of money while the other one doesn’t. Even Canada has their own „Club Osmose“ a dating website exclusively for rich people. Birds of a feather flock together? As generally two people of the same race tend to date (not always the case) so can be generally said for people of the same financial living standard.

5. Money and Confidence. The more money I earn, the more confident I’ve felt. When I can go out to the bar and shell out $40 without thinking, it only adds to my level of confidence. A guy who acts without thinking about money is going to come off better than one who has a budget mindset. At times when my income has been unusually low, I’ve also felt a sense of shame and a degredation of my own self worth.

Money does not matter entirely in my life, yet I can’t help to agree that even though you might not notice it, the influence of money is around you everyday, effecting, dating, your relationships, and even your feeling of self worth.
