Make a living from blogging?
Published by Nick on March 22nd, 2008 | Tagged Blogging

Making a blog to make a living? Mark Cuban (the Dallas Cowboys owner) who has his own blog, warned that many won’t make enough to support themselves from blogging. He does admit that getting a large audience is the goal of blogging.

The president of Adbrite stated that about one in six blogs gets even 500 page views per day. A rate that would earn at most $45 a month. (I think the president has his figures wrong.) Even with my site sampleaday receiving 500 page views per day, we were earning $200 per month.

A few important tips for new bloggers.
1. Just post! Many bloggers find a hard time just clicking that publish button.

2. Life first, then blogging. Find a way to fit in your blog to your schedule. But, live your life first.

3. Keep a regular rhythm. Whether you post once a week or everyday, don’t post everyday and suddenly not at all. Let your readers know how often to expect new posts.

I was about to say, maybe that is a reason not to use Adbrite hahahaha. sampleaday.com gets more than 500 page views a day now… but anyone that gets 500 page views a day should make far more than $45 a month. Unless… they use adbrite.

Good tips. People just need to stick to the basics of posting interesting content, and trying to find an audience /niche.
