Fake Blogging, Fake Blogs on the Internet

Friday, March 28th, 2008

Fake Blogging, the art of blogging as someone else.  Plenty of fake bloggers on the internet are blogging in the shoes of someone else.  There is a fake Steve Jobs Blog, Bill Gates, even fake Steve Balmer (a bunch of tech guys).

Fake Steve Jobs Blog
The top of the list is Fake Steve Jobs.  The writer has been outed that he’s not Steve Jobs, but still this blog as quite a following.  He takes the news of Steve Jobs and writes Steve’s probably opinion and makes it funny.  If you’re a fan of Steve Jobs and Apple it’s entertaining. http://fakesteve.blogspot.com/

Create your own Fake Blog?
Why not write a blog in the opinion of someone else? I’d like to see a fake Hillary, wait I spoke too soon.  http://topsecrethillary.blogspot.com/

It seems everyone wants to be in the shoes of everyone and why not?  If you don’t find your life interesting enough, write about the life of someone else!

Become Your Own DJ Online

Friday, March 28th, 2008

Back in 2005, I thought it would be cool to become a DJ.  I used to make tracks using a program called Fruity Loops and even created my own DJ profile online.  You can listen to a few of my DJ tracks on iSound.

Following your dreams
Sure we all have hobbies, but how many of them are you willing to push forward and into a career?  Wouldn’t it be great for your hobby to also be your source of income?  Ok, so I gave up on my DJ career, but had I really made a lot of effort, who knows where I could have gone.

Stop Expecting Too Much
I’m always reminded of a crazy Italian girl who told me, “Stop expecting so much!  Nothing happens right away.”  She is right in the sense that, there is no instant gratification.  You don’t wake up tomorrow and just become a DJ, a writer, or a famous actor for example.

Gratification Through Hard Work
Why are all those students suffering through college, working for minimum wage, and eating leftover pizza from 5 days ago?  They all have a dream.  Through their 4 or 5 years of study, they hope to come out victorious and enjoy the spoils of a great job afterwards.

Take blogging as an example.  Why are bloggers out there writing long, really good articles even though no one is visiting their blog?  They are thinking about the future, long term result.  A few months of hard work and maybe people will start to notice all the effort you’ve been putting into your blog.

There is no instant Gratification!
Hard work and patience are the keys to success.  Work your hardest, but don’t complain if you don’t get all the spoils.  Do something you enjoy and the work won’t seem so hard, put your best effort into what you do and you’ll feel better about it.  Don’t expect anything for what you do and you’ll be happier with the outcome.

Get Free $25 from Revolution Bank

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

Free Money? That’s my favorite. I didn’t believe this deal at first from the Money Bank. I figured they just wanted my info, so they could steal my identity, by a bunch of really sweet stuff and move to Mexico.

How it works
You sign up for an account with Money Bank, and they give you the first $25. It’s an online bank just like Paypal. Actually, this is just how Paypal started out. They started giving everyone $10 just for signing up. Revolution Bank is trying to one up them, by giving a nice $25.

Why it’s legit
This is basically a holding company. A bunch of banks got together to fund this website. They’ve got series B venture capital funding from Citi, Morgan Stanley, and the Deutsche Bank. They also have some top notch CEOs like Ted Leonsis, Chairman Vice Chairman, AOL; Owner, Washington Capitals and Steve Case Chairman, Revolution LLC; Co-Founder, AOL; Former Chairman, AOL Time Warner. See the whole list here.

Get Your Money
If you sign up here, you’ll have to enter in your personal info, address, as well as Social Security, but no bank info. The money must remain at least 24 hours in the account.

Cheapest Gas Comparison, Gas Savings Calculator

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

Do you save by going to a gas station with a cheaper price? It depends how far away it is. A new website helps you calculate exactly how you should drive in order for it to be worth to save on gas.

According to the site:

For the example of a 15-gallon purchase for a car that gets 25 miles per gallon, the motorist should drive no further than 3 miles away to pay a nickel less than a $3.15 local price.

You might think that you are saving when you drive a bit further to a gas station with a price listed 5 cents cheaper, but is it really the case? Consider that you have to drive to the gas station and back, adding extra miles on your car.  The creator of the site said “The total cost of a purchase should always be considered, not just the price. In many cases additional hidden expenses can wipe out any savings on price.”
