When I first started to blog, it felt like I would never be able to blog in less than 1 hour per post. As I’ve continued throughout the past 5 months, I’ve discovered that speed blogging becomes easier and easier to accomplish. As I had limited internet access yesterday, I had to write 10 posts within 2 hours. How is this possible?
1. Research possible topics - start researching ahead of time and create a general outline of what you want to write, even if on paper.
2. Save stories - Think a recent news article is interesting? Save it for later. Everytime I hear a good article, I keep save it in my bookmarks and refer back to it when I have to write something quick.
3. Get Personal - When I absolutley don’t know what to write and need to write fast, I write about why I’m writting fast. I tell readers why I’m blogging as fast as I can. Just get personal and tell readers what’s going on in your life.
4. Write without thinking - Take a topic and just expand it as much as possible without thinking to deeply about it. Just let your writing flow and proofread your mistakes later. Save your work
5. Practice - How fast can you write? Start timing yourself. Set a record each day.
Keep in mind that often writing fast produces sloppy results. You’ll most likely make plenty of mistakes and your readers will see that. Speed Blogging does come in handy when you have limited access to the internet or simply don’t have time to blog, but don’t just write to have information. Still try to make blogs readable and interesting. No one wants to just read a bunch of text with little thought or purpose.
