Movable Type or Wordpress? Though It’s more of a personal choice in my opinion, Anil Dash of Movable Type created a fight between Wordpress and Moveable Type when he started suggesting that Wordpress users upgrade to MoveableType rather than Wordpress 2.5.
Of course Matt Mullenweg wasn’t just going to bow down and take these comments. It didn’t take long before Matt furthered the debate’s escalation by pointing out the flaws of Moveable Type on his personal blog.
Matt made a few good points on his blog saying that “Movable Type once led the market, it had over 90% marketshare in the self-hosted market. Now they call “pages†and “dynamic publishingâ€, features WordPress has had for 4+ years, innovation and you still can’t do basic things like click “next posts†at the bottom of home page.â€
So which is better? I’m not going to support either side, yet I find the flexibility and support of Wordpress reassuring. I’ve never seen any reason to switch from Wordpress with it’s infinite amount of plugins, templates, and of course huge community. What do you think?
