So it happened, you didn’t backup your files, and it’s all lost to some electronic grave. The best way to backup your files is online! Not only is this available wherever you are, but your backups are safe even if your drive crashes. Recently I had a drive crash, but thankfully most of my stuff was backed up.
Backup Files Online
MediaMax.com gives you 25gb of storage. This would be a great place to store non copyrighted files. After reading into their privacy statement, they will sell you out. If you start uploading your music collection, they do have the right to sell you out to the RIAA. However, it is a great place to store pictures and documents you might later need.
Mediafire.com offers unlimited file uploading and storage space. I’ve opted to use both Mediafire.com and MediaMax.com to store all my personal photos and documents.
Backup Your Pictures
I use two picture backup locations. Picassa2 is a service owned by Google that makes uploading pictures easy. You get almost unlimited storage capacity and all your files are saved to the full resolution.
Webshots.com is my second backup option. Though they do offer easy photo options, they do not allow you to download full albums. This means manually saving each photo individually… Quite a pain!
Mp3 Backup
Trust No One! Before backing up your music online make sure to read the privacy policy. Many companies will sell you out (they get a good profit).  You might want to try mp3locker.com as they offer unlimited music storage, but be careful. The RIAA wants you!
