Over the years I’ve been sort of a collector of things. Everytime I see a Beer Coaster I have to grab it. Free postcards? They’ve got to be mine. Beer Bottles? I save one of each.
So what do I do with all this stuff I collect? I create art.
Beer Coasters get gathered together and I create posters out of them. Beer Bottles become a display on my wall. Free postcards become a poster as well by taping them together into a large square.
Some of the best stuff is created yourself
People overall are wasteful and often neglect to see the value that many of the things they create could provide. This guy created a lamp out of a Skyy Bottle (link). I often give flowers to people in a self made vase out of a wine bottle.
Give away that junk of yours
Not everything we have could be put to good use. Have some old board games you’ll never touch? Keep in mind the saying: “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure”. Rather than hoarding all your old stuff, only to never use it again. Sell it or better yet, give it away! So many people are keen on buying new stuff, they often forget the value of their old stuff.
The main message that I’m trying to bring to this article is, everything has value and the best stuff is created yourself.
