Keeping Readers on Your Blog

One measure I’ve success I’ve had for a blog is the ability of keeping readers on a blog.  You want readers coming back everyday to your blog to read new content, but how do you go about keeping them on your blog rather than have them come once and never again?

Make It Easy To Subscribe
I use feedburner email subscriptions simply because it is so easy to subscribe.  All a reader has to do is enter their email address and enter a verification code.  Everytime I update, my readers will be sent an email.

Offer An Incentive To Subscribe
Often the best way to get people to subscribe is to offer a free ebook or something for free.  Try taking your best articles, reworking them, and creating a decent ebook that gets readers worked into your site.

Post Frequency
If you don’t post often, readers won’t have any reason to check your blog that often.  Try updating everyday, even multiple posts a day to give readers brand new content every time they visit your blog.
