Work life can be stressful and finding ways to reduce the stress is important to living a more fulfilling life. Why? Stress from work carries into our daily lives, ruins relationships, and disrupts our natural flow.

The average employee is productive at work for just four hours a day due to a flood of disruptive emails and phone calls.
If we could manage this unproductive time better, who says we couldn’t work even less per day? Many workplaces that I’ve worked at before studying at the University level stressed the importance of staying busy. It was considered bad if we weren’t doing something. I’d have to constantly be cleaning or doing something. Having to constantly think and do something is just stressful.

Lowering What is Considered Full Time
Since technology makes our lives easier and more effecient, shouldn’t we be able to work less too? Think how many new jobs a 30 hour work week would create. If 1000 employees worked 10 hours less per week and the business still kept the same amount of working hours, 333 new jobs could be created. France has already enacted a 35 hours work week with anything over to be considered overtime.

Working a four hour work week
Timothy Ferriss works the four hour work week. By generating business’ that run themselves, he literally only needs to put in four hours a week to have a more than full time income. Hes used methods such as developing an internet drug store to ensure that he always has a full time income.

Taking a Break from a Stressful Work Life
Timonthy Ferriss who works the four hour work week has suggested taking mini vacations from the stress of our work life. Instead of using your vacation time as bonus pay, why not actually go out and use those days for a trip.

    1. Recruitment Girl Says:

Stress is the biggest single factor leading to absenteeism and non-performance in the workplace. Recruitment agencies can’t ever truly factor the stress factor in, it is a very contentious and unpredictable parameter.
