Blogetery Site Down, Spam Problems
Published by admin on July 5th, 2008 | Tagged Random

For those of you who used Blogetery to blog, I’m pretty sure you are all super annoyed with the fact that Blogetery crashed from some annoying spammer that used Blogetery to create a spam account and then promote it.  This made their host Server Axis take down their entire server making every single Blogetery site go down.

This happened back in June and their site still is down.  Rather a pity when a site like Blogetery starts getting successful only to get shutdown by some spammer.

Lesson learned?  If you want to get big, host the server yourself.  Otherwise pay close attention to what goes on.

My brother has had this experience as well.  He created a free mail service that would allow anyone to send free mail from his server.  Immediately some spammers started using this to send mass emails.  So his hosting canceled his account.
