I’ve heard enough people complain about their spending habits, so I’ve written this post for those complainers on how exactly they can get what they pay for, free, and legal at that.
Free Music Instead of Buying
Well illegally you could use torrents, but legally you could use services like hypem.com where it lists blogs in the net that feature free mp3 music. You could sign up for emusic’s 50 free download trial and get 50 free music downloads for a month. Or, if you really want to build a massive collection for free, you could download StreamRipper which rips internet radio and cuts the ripped station into individual songs. It’s a great way to get a ton music in a short time.
Internet Instead of the Newspaper and Magazines.
The only thing the newspaper has that you probably can’t find online is local news, but even that can easily be found out. Even if you get the Sunday paper just for the weekly ads, did you know you can find all the store ads online? Just visit the store’s website and you’ll find all the ads usually in html, pdf, or both formats.

Did you know that universities are putting their courses online for free? No you won’t get college credit, but it’s a great way to start studying without paying anything. http://www.ocwconsortium.org/
Free Books and Magazines
My local library has about every latest book and magazine, newspapers too. Sometimes I have to be on a waiting list, but it’s worth it to never have to buy a book again.
Ted Talk Speeches Instead of Seminars
Over at Ted you can get some completely free speeches that should fill up you need to go to pricey seminars. Ted.com has an amazing list of free speaker you can watch online totally free!
