The 5 Million Dollar Blogger, Australian Car Advice

Sunday, July 27th, 2008

When you find out your blog is worth 5 Million is the day you know you did something right.  Recently http://www.caradvice.com.au/ was valued at a whopping 5 million dollars.

The owner says he started out making $10 a day and then $100 a day, and all while working a full time job.

A year ago he was making a whole $30 grand a month. That just shows what happens with persistence. He actually started out with three sites and ended up with just one, the one that was making the most cash. Then he stuck with it. Sure the money was more and more of a reason to keep going, but if you notice that your income stream is a little bit more and a little bit more, shouldn’t you work even harder?

How to Convert RSS Feed Into a Weekly Newsletter

Sunday, July 27th, 2008

Sometimes we might just want to send out a newsletter instead of a daily feed.  There are a few services letting users create these newsletters from feeds.  This gives the subscriber a few options when receiving your feed, rather than just daily.rss

www.nouri.sh – lets you send up to 5000 emails per month for free, though with only 5000 emails it goes rather quick, unless you have a small subscriber list.

Zookoda – I’d recommend this most of all simply because it’s completely free and lets you schedule posts so you could send out a weekly newsletter.  On the downside Zookoda subscribers don’t show up in FeedBurner stats.

How to Sleep Better at Night, Tips for Sleeping Better

Saturday, July 26th, 2008

Feel tired after sleeping a full 8 hours? One of the reasons for your morning fatigue is often the overnight fasting that took place while you were asleep.   When you sleep you’ll often have lower blood sugar making you often feeling tired when you wake up.

1. Try consuming 1-2 tablespoons of flaxseed oil before going to bed.

2. Try eating a small snack before you sleep.  Often I’ll eat a small non-fat jogurt with some orange slices or some nuts.  Nothing too fattening, but something that will get a little extra food in your stomach before you sleep.

3. Take a nice ice bath before you sleep.  Try sticking some ice in a bathtub and then sitting in there a while.  Studies have shown that a cold bath helps bring the onset of sleeping. (It takes awhile to get used to it.)
