More and more people are turning toward staying home for their vacation. Of course we all know the reasons why we might need to stay home for vacation. Here are the top 5 reasons according to fool.com:
5. You just outsourced the family dog for meal money.
4. Filling your gas tank costs the same as a weeklong pass to a theme park.
3. Foreign tourists just offered pocket change for your house.
2. All of your ATM receipts read, “You’re kidding, right?”
And the No. 1 sign you’ll be taking a staycation this summer … You frequently mistake your energy bill for your mortgage payment.
Of course more and more people are staying home for vacation simply because it would cost them too much to drive anywhere. I face the same question myself as I pay my student loans off, but at the same time want to fly over to Europe or South America. How much is too much and what is your breaking point before you decide this year’s vacation is going to be a stay at home vacation?
