Google Adsense Effected by Bad Economy?
Published by admin on October 8th, 2008 | Tagged monetize

With a bad economy here, is the bad economy reducing your Google Adsense earnings?  Recently I’ve noticed a dip in my Google Adsense earnings shortly after the 700 billion dollar bailout of the US government.  Coincidence or not, Google is not telling us what their cut percentage wise is.  Could Google take a higher cut to balance lessening income revenue?

The Exchange Rate Factor

Since Google Adsense usually converts from dollars.  A weak US Dollar  can mean a decrease in earnings for any other currency.

The Rate of Publisher Sign ups

The more competition you have, the chances are that you might earn less.  With more and more adsense publishers, that means even more advertising space is available for advertisers which could reduce the average earnings rate for publishers.  As an example: You have one apple pie, but instead of 5 people you now have to share the pie with 15 people, which means less pie for you.

Your Website Topic

The biggest factor seems to be the topic you write about.  Outside influences, such as strikes, demand, and so forth can have a big impact on your earnings.  I’ve noticed some days a decrease in earnings per thousand on some websites, while increase in others.
