Ways To Make Traveling Easier, Best Travel Tool Gadgets

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

Traveling has gotten easier and easier with the amount of new tools being released. Some travel have been released to make the travel easier that you might not have even realized. On my last trip, instead of taking the usual two bags under the plane and loading up my travel full of everything I was sure I needed I cut down the amount in half.

Traveling Made Easier With GPS and WIFI

I remember the days where I had to pull out a map and look where to go. Those days are behind me now with GPS phones. I bought the GloFiish M700 for about $250 on ebay awhile back, loaded tomtom on it as well as the European and North American maps. Now the time when traveling that I feel lost is when I have to wait for GPS to find a signal. Not only that but I can use WIFI or a cell phone providers internet access to check out for the best restaurants, attractions, and things to do.

Traveling Made Easier By Being Selective

The worst way to travel is by taking more than you need. Sure you need every little gadget from home and all your clothes and more, but how many of these things do you actually use? I went through my clothes and picked my favorite three pairs of jeans, as well as a few of my favorite shirts, dress shirts, and ties. The rest of the gear I either stuffed in a drawer or did what everyone should do, donate it.

Traveling Gadgets for Easier, Lighter Traveling

Weight is the one thing you don’t want on your journey. I’d suggest the msr packtowl which is a much lighter towel than the one you probably have at home, but soaks in a lot more. For a pillow try something that is more portable than usual. Try something half the size of your normal pillow.

THE MSR PACKTOWL

Blankets – If you are going for a longer stay, take two smaller blankets rather than your entire bed spread, or take a light sleeping bag instead. Bed spreads take up way more room than necessary.

Shopping on the Internet, The Internet Shopping Mall

Tuesday, October 21st, 2008

The internet is a large shopping mall?  Yes in many ways it is as we spend less and less time in shopping malls and more time shopping on the internet.  There are plenty of reasons why shopping on the internet is often better than going to the mall.

Advantages Include:

1. Large variety of merchandise = shop from stores not even located in your area, or stores that are strictly online, which broadens your horizon.

2. Save on gas and time = often your internet purchases will have shipping cheaper than it costs to drive to the store,  plus all that time you saved from looking online.

3. Find the best deals = With sites like pricegrabber.com and ebay, it is getting easier to find the best deals online.

Often I find myself using the internet more and more to do my internet shopping simply as I mention for the selection, but if not that, mainly for the price.  Online I know I am getting a good deal as I compare among all other stores, where as when I purchase an item in a retail store I feel like it is more impulse than deal.

Places to check for deals:

1. Always check ebay.com to see if you can get a good shopping deal.

2. Check deal sites like pricegrabber.com and even amazon.com

How many videos are uploaded to YouTube?

Monday, October 20th, 2008

The number of videos uploaded to YouTube each day is astounding.  According to InformiTV: Every minute, some 13 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube. “That’s the equivalent of Hollywood releasing more than 57,000 full-length movies every week.”

Back when people feering that tv was the death of radio, but do we here people calling out for the death of radio this time around?  Still, even with that kind of traffic, Google operates YouTube at a loss., with possible revenues that might reach $200 million it costs even more to run the site.

So how can we use YouTube to our advantage? Upload videos and watermark your website on them.  Video sites are a great place to get extra website, but as you see with the amount of video being uploaded, there is plenty of competition.
