Employees Unpaid Computer Bootup Time

So employees aren’t being paid for the time it takes the computer to boot up.  They claim that 15 to 30  minutes can be lost just booting up the computer and turning it off.  Just imagine how this time can add up.  3 and a half hours per week possibly?  Yes that’s not fun at all.

A lawsuit was filed against UnitedHealthGroup, Cigna, and AT&T for employees unpaid computer startup time. Of course the employees main claim is that this startup constitutes as working time and they should be paid for it. Of course they aren’t just staring at the bootup screen they are taking care of other activities.

The companies say they aren’t being productive.

In any case 1) Get those computers fired up before an employee gets to work 2) Treat your employees better and they will work better.  End of story.
