What is Micro Blogging and how to Micro Blog
Published by admin on November 20th, 2008 | Tagged Blogging

What is Micro Blogging? Micro Blogging is the simplicity form of blogging, and whether you know it or not you probably already micro blog.  If you use facebook and update your status you are effectively micro blogging.

Micro Blog updates are a short sentence often 140 characters or less. As we’ve said facebook incorporates this, but also Twitter one of the most well known micro blogging systems.

At first I didn’t even understand it, for in fact micro blogging seemed a big dumb, even made no sense. Who wants to blog with only one sentence? But the trend has caught on. A lot can be said in one word, even if it is just updated what you are doing. A micro blog post could be just “went to store, gone all day” or “new movie rocks I recommend it”.

Sometimes there just doesn’t need to be much said. It’s sort of a chat about what are you doing, what you think, that is blogging, without the 300 words. People use microblogging to in fact to recommend movies, plays or other shows.

How to Micro Blog? Start by following a few twitter micro blogs and reading the conversation.  Then after getting a feel for what they are doing start your own twitter blog.  Feel free to write a short something, send a link, suggest an activity or just say your mind, as short as you like.

I still don’t really know what the point of twitter is, but I’m starting to get it. Life moves fast these days and people are insanely busy–so I guess it makes sense to want to communicate in short (140 character) bursts. It’s still sort of funny though.
