I used to accept Blog posts sponsored from companies and other blogs, but accepting commerial blog posts ended up getting my sites into trouble with Google, losing their pagerank and though sponsored blog posts did help me initial find more funding for my blog, in the long run I question whether it was worth it.
Where to Accept To Find Sponsored Blog Posts
Two companies, review me and payperpost, the best two I’ve found, find sponsored posts for you and allow you to make money blogging about a product.
There are a few types of sponsored posts. There are those which you must write a positive review. Those which the review can be neutral, or even sponsored reviews which can be positive or negative, depending on your experience.
Generally I would never recommend doing any sponsored review that is forceable positive. You don’t want to promote a product you don’t believe in to your blog users, just to make a bit of side cash. The key to keeping loyal blog readers is transparency.
Being Transparent With Sponsored Blog Posts
What I mean by being transparent is that when your post has been sponsored tell your readers so they know. Inform them honestly about the company.
Courtesy To the Company Sponsor
When you write a sponsored post, make sure it’s some of your best work. Do make sure to check the spelling, grammar and of course to write a well thought out post. Spend time looking at what you are reviewing.
Why put in the extra work for a sponsored blog post? Companies won’t want to work with someone who doesn’t write well thoughout posts. Those looking to make a quick buck will or short time until the advertisers catch on and won’t want to work with you anymore.
