Many have tried, few have succeeded, but making money on the internet is possible with patience and skill.  It looks like anyone can make money on the internet just from starting a blog and plopping a few ads on to make money, but what seperates those who make a livable income online and those who are making money online just to pay for a few coffees each month?

Qualities that make making money on the internet possible
1) Determination – So many people try to make money on the internet but give up after a month.  I spend 6 months blogging before I even made my first $100.
2) Skills – Blogging is fun, but do you spend time researching how you can get better?  Sure you can do the same thing day after day and not improve, or you can research, read, and develop your skills to improve your chances of making money on the internet.
3) Ideas – Do you have a brain full of new ideas to tinker with?  Not everyone is successful on the first, second, or even fifth idea.  We all know that story of Edison creating 100s of light bulb ideas before hitting the right one.
4) Time – You need time to dedicate your work for making money on the internet.  Those with another job know that it’s hard to motivate yourself to work on something that isn’t earning you any money.
5) Risk Taker – Though startup costs are minimal, you are investing time that could be used somewhere else. You might need to spend money in ads as well, which is a monetary commitment.

In the end, making money on the internet is possible, as long as you can follow some of the qualities I mentioned.  So many people give up before their internet income really had a chance to grow. Stick with it, work hard, and reap the benefits later.
