How to Use Scheduled Posts in Blogger, Wordpress

Sunday, December 21st, 2008

The lack of scheduled posts in Blogger is one of the major motivators to switch to Wordpress. However, listening to users, Blogger did enable scheduled post eventually allowing users to schedule posts to publish later.

Why Using Scheduled Posts is Recommended
If you are a blogger like me with a large subscriber list, you might need to schedule posts.  You might sit down and write everything at one time, but do you want everything all published in the same minute?  Instead, use post scheduling to divide out your posts and give reasons to come back a few times in the same day to your blog.

Use Scheduled Posts for Vacation Days
Sure we all need a break once in awhile, but we also want to make sure our blog is updated daily, use scheduled posts to update your blog even when you are away.  Just because you go on vacation, take a day off, or whatever else, doesn’t mean your blog has to sit devoid of new content.

As I am flying from Frankurt, Germany to Michigan tomorrow, I’ll be flying all day without a chance to use internet. My solution? Using scheduled posts to update my blogs while I fly.

Accepting Sponsored Blog Posts, How to Accept Blog Sponsor Post

Saturday, December 20th, 2008

I used to accept Blog posts sponsored from companies and other blogs, but accepting commerial blog posts ended up getting my sites into trouble with Google, losing their pagerank and though sponsored blog posts did help me initial find more funding for my blog, in the long run I question whether it was worth it.

Where to Accept To Find Sponsored Blog Posts
Two companies, review me and payperpost, the best two I’ve found, find sponsored posts for you and allow you to make money blogging about a product.

There are a few types of sponsored posts.  There are those which you must write a positive review.  Those which the review can be neutral, or even sponsored reviews which can be positive or negative, depending on your experience.

Generally I would never recommend doing any sponsored review that is forceable positive.  You don’t want to promote a product you don’t believe in to your blog users, just to make a bit of side cash.  The key to keeping loyal blog readers is transparency.

Being Transparent With Sponsored Blog Posts
What I mean by being transparent is that when your post has been sponsored tell your readers so they know.  Inform them honestly about the company.

Courtesy To the Company Sponsor
When you write a sponsored post, make sure it’s some of your best work.  Do make sure to check the spelling, grammar and of course to write a well thought out  post. Spend time looking at what you are reviewing.

Why put in the extra work for a sponsored blog post? Companies won’t want to work with someone who doesn’t write well thoughout posts.  Those looking to make a quick buck will or short time until the advertisers catch on and won’t want to work with you anymore.

YouTube HD Video Section, YouTube Adds HD Section

Friday, December 19th, 2008

Now YouTube is going all HD in a new video section that features HD only videos. Thanks to increasing internet speeds, most video is slowly but surely all going to HD. This means DVD quality videos online, and a move away from those low res video clips that YouTube used to only offer.

Of course offering HD is going to cost YouTube even more bandwidth and space. As you might have heard before, YouTube has had problems turning YouTube into a real profit machine, stuggling to find ways to even cover the costs of just running YouTube.

In any case, just enjoy quality HD videos in the exclusive YouTube section via this link.http://www.youtube.com/browse?s=mphd&t=a&c=0&l=&b=0%22

Of course one of the most popular ‘HD’ films recently is the Where is Matt video.
