The best idea when starting to guest post is to pick blogs with a similar topic to your own.  The best idea is to first email the owner of the blog telling them what you want to write about.  Make sure he or she will accept a guest blog spot and then write it up for him. Keep in mind that they might not publish your guest post.  So, to increase the chances of it actually getting published, make sure your article is devoid of all grammar and spelling mistakes.

Not only can guest posts on other blogs have a positive effect on your relationship with other bloggers.  You are giving them essentially a “free” post, maybe enabling them to work a little less one day.  Use your guest post to take the first step in forming relationships with other blogs on the net.
