Is it fair for a juror to update twitter blog posts duriing an ongoing trial? Eric Wuest, 35, of Collegeville, posted status updates on Facebook and Twitter social networking Web sites about the federal corruption trial of former state Sen. Vincent Fumo since last September. This didn’t make anyone too happy.
With the ability to share information almost at anytime, whether using twitter through sms or just writing up a blog, the ease of information can cause problems. Keep in mind that even if you think no one visits your blog you might be wrong and run into problems just like this juror.
When it comes to privledged information, keep it silent, or at least don’t post it on twitter.
