Who can write the fastest text message is the question being asked by LG with their own Canadian Texting Championship. There are over $25,000 in cash and prizes for the fastest text messengers who can probably type faster on a phone than I can in real life.
The message: “The razor-toothed piranhas of the genera Serrasalmus and Pygocentrus are the most ferocious freshwater fish in the world. In reality they seldom attack a human.” was written on a cellphone keypad using no predictive text or QWERTY keyboards allowed in just 57.75 seconds.
This brings the question as if a keyboard is becoming more of an extension of your own body since some people are able to type faster than physically write or even communicate by speaking words.
In January 2009, a teenage girl set a record high of 14,528 text messages in a one month period. The official record for fastest text messanger is Ang Chuang Yang who keyed in the official text messaging sentence, as established by Guinness, in 41.52 seconds.
