Traveling Through California, San Diego, LA, San Francisco

Sunday, April 26th, 2009

I’ve been traveling the last 2 and a half wee ks in California, visiting four cities.  First I spent my time traveling throughout LA first staying outside of Hollywood (overrated). Then I moved over to Venice Beach and Santa Monica which was a much better area than Hollywood and Downtown LA.

Next I moved on to San Diego, taking a Greyhound Bus from downtown outside of Skid Row (a rather scary  place).  After arriving in San Diego I stayed on Pacific Beach in a hostel that was right on the beach.  Here the weather was great all day long and people just seemed to drink beer, get a tan, and just party all day long.

Finally I met up with a few fellows from San Diego and rented a car with them, traveling up the coast.  Our first stop was in Santa Barbara.

The best view of all comes from the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge.

Currently in San Francisco, the weather is cold at night and okay during the day.  The cable cars and the style of buildings makes San Francisco unique compared to most American cities.

My next stop? I’m considering some time in Seattle and Vancouver.

How to Blog at Class and Work

Saturday, April 25th, 2009

One place you often can not blog is both while in class and during your work time.  Updating your blog during your work period and class can often result in some quite serious consqueunces, like being fired or smething as simple as getting yelled at by the professor.

How I Used to Blog at Class and Work
During class, I found that the best way to blog was opening up a text file and simply tping there.  It makes it seem as if you are really typing notes, whereas you are really gettig your blog typed up.  Sometimes I even mix in my blogging with my actual reports, so if anyon took  quick glance at my work, it would seem ordinary.

The main point is to disguise your blogging to the point where it looks as if you are working hard.

Why People Fail At Blogging

Friday, April 24th, 2009

You might have asked just why so many people simply fail at blogging as so many have failed over and over with little success.  I am going to attempt just to explain why this occurs…

Why People Fail at Blogging
1. Lack of Commitment – They give up early, not seeing a profit at the beginning and give up.
2. Lack of Research – They don’t research into ways to improve their blog to make money.
3. Lack of  Time – They start a blog trying to make a lot of money, but they put only a little time in, blogging randomly.
4. High Expectations – They start with too high of expectations from the start, and give up right away when they haven’t been met.
5. Lack of a Plan – Often people start a blog but fail to properly monetize it.  They have no plan for the future of their blog.

Whatever your reason for blogging, don’t give up, that is the easiest way to fail.  Keep working at it and figure ot what you are doing wrong.  Once you hit thhat once success you will be golden.

Google Blocked Virus, Virus That Blocks Google Solution

Thursday, April 23rd, 2009

I recently have been getting a virus that keeps blocking google, redirecting it to 0.0.0.0.0 as well as a number of anti virus websites like mcaffe.com.  The solution to beating this virus is actually quite easy and requires only a couple of free programs.

To stop your browser from redirecting and blocking Google you need to delete a file.  Browse to c:windows\system32\drivers\etc and delete hosts file.  This file is what is setup to redirect all the websites to 0.0.0.o.0.

However this file will continue to be created everytime you restart your computer until you fully remove the entire virus. One of the programs I’ve  been using to remove the virus  is SpyBot search and destroy. This program is free and lets me know everytime a virus trys to insert itself into my system registry.
