Highest ECPM for Your Blog?

Thursday, June 25th, 2009

My blogs range for low ecpm to high with the highest recorded being possible yesterday with an ecpm of $38.50 with Google Adsense. Typical I get about a $28 ecpm (earnings per thousand) but the extra $10 really can make a big difference on a total of 21,000 pageviews.

This resulted in the high earnings of $813.34. Even $1 ecpm difference can make a huge difference when deaing with thousands of views. In 100,000 page views $1 can missing out on $100.

Of course the best way to control your ecpm is by the keywords you use. Entertainment focused keywords seem to pay less where as product keywords I’ve notced end up paying out more. Just choose your keywords carefully because they actually can have a big impact on what you earn on your blog.

WOW Gold Blog Spam Commenter

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009

WOW Gold has been the one spam commenter who has been the sneakiest around. Not only do they get through image captcha, but they write comments that are clever enough to fool anyone who doesn’t look them through. This WOW Gold blog spam commenter also doesn’t leave back any link besides the one in their comment information section.

The reason WOW Gold fails to really get their spam comments in is the fact that they leave like 50 comments all at once. This is something sure to piss anyone off. You have to sit there and hit delete on every single one. If it was one or two comments I might have even let them in without thinking about it.

I give WOW Gold’s Commenter credit for getting through my barriers, but still, though I respect that I am extremely annoyed by the masses of comments you leave on my blogs once in awhile. Let’s not get excited ok, but please try leaving one or two comments and not two hundred?

Ip Restrictions When Traveling Abroad, Using a VPN

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

Whenever I travel abroad, the most annoying thing is the IP restrictions that prevent me from accessing certain US sites. A VPN is a great way to access sites in the USA since it basically reroutes your IP address through US websites. Two services that are free and allow accessing Us websites include Hotspot Shield and Ultrasurf.

Hotspot Shield and Ultrasurf are essentially free VPN’ services which bypass Ip Restrictions on the internet by acting as a third party, more like the middle man between your internet access abroad so that all your data goes through a US connection and gets transfered to you. This not only hides everything you do your service provider but tricks websites into thinking that you are in the usa.

I wrote a more detailed guide at my TV online website via this link

Tips and Travel Advice for Visiting Buenos Aires

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

I arrived in Buenos Aires and thanks to a few tips I followed I arrived safe during my visit here. I was worried about visiting Buenos Aires since my Spanish is very limited. Though no one seems to speak English here you can still get around without too many problems.

Tips for Getting from the Airport to Buenos Aires City Center
I was recommended not to take the public bus since it’s a bit more dangerous taking your luggage. Rather I took a special bus called Manuel Tienda Leon Transfer which for about $10 usd brings you straight to the city center. Of course I had to exchange my cash in the airport, which generally is the worse exchange you will ever get, but still worth it to be safe.

Taking a taxi? You could, but you have to be careful since many will try to rip you off charging you often double the price.

Booking a Hostel in Buenos Aires Tips
A hostel always seems like the best idea to me. My hostel is costing me about $10 usd a night for a six bed dorm. Still you can pay about $25 a night and get your own private room, the cost of a 6 bed dorm in the USA. Hostels take old and young. I’m currently stay at the MilHouse Hostel which seems to have a new activity every night. Last night was open mic guitar, though unfortunately I was too tired from the 10 hour flight the night before.

Though I’m here in the winter of Buenos Aires, the weather is still comfortable. I need a light jacket but I find that better than sweating in 80 degrees.
