Thanks to the internet you can live anyway you want, just one of the many opportunities oopened up thanks to the Internet. I have the opportunity to watch German TV from Germany using Zattoo, while eating Mexican food, after having just had a face to face video conversation with someone from Buenos Aires. The world is at your finger tips, really. If I never left my house I might not ever have to believe I am even in America. I get all my news in Germany via the web.

Slingbox is another great opportunity that the internet offers. Thanks to a Slingbox I can watch my favorite America TV channelss anywhere in the world. A slingbox broadcasts your at home cable tv over the internet so you can control it anywhere you are. This works wonders when you are abroad and can’t get ready access to any English speaking tv.

Yet another opportunity opened up by the internet is taking home culture abroad. Since the internet lets you take your culture abroad, it is letting more and people feel less homesick when they go abroad. From my personal experiences, little things like being able to read my local Michigan news while in Europe and watch my TV from home while abroad makes the trip seem much more familiar. Plus, thanks to facebook, skype, as well as AIM I always can connect to family and friends.

The internet really is the best thing since sliced bread.
