Reasons To Use Only a Credit Card

Sunday, July 26th, 2009

Do you like to use cash?  Find that using a credit card is just too tempting?  There are many reasons why I use solely a credit  card and try to use as minimal cash as possible.

Reasons I Use Only a Credit Card
1. I can track my purchases better.  When I spend cash I’m often left wondering where that $20 bill went.
2. Lose the Credit Card, keep your cash.  If you lose you cash it’s gone, probably forever.  If you lose your credit card you can just cancel it and get a new one.
3. Accepted almost everywhere. I can use my credit card around the world, where as my cash i have to convert, pay fees, etc.
4. Get Cash Back. Does cash give you extra cash for using it? No.  A credit card gives you cash back and reward points so you get stuff for buying stuff.

Overall it is just more convienent to carry a credit card than a big wad of cash.  Sure it is necessary to keep some money in case of an emergency, but overall, I think credit is king and cash well… it’s something that stuffs my wallet..

Free Calls Using Google Voice and T-Mobile

Friday, July 24th, 2009

Those living in the USA will want to sign up for Google Voice and T Mobile service.  Using the number Google Voice assigns as your T Mobile My Fav number, all your calls incoming and outgoing will be completely free.

Any call to your Google Voice number will ring your cell phone under your Google Voice number.  By assigning this as your My Fav number with T Mobile these incoming calls will be free.

This gets even better.  You can call your Google Voice number, assigned as your My Fav number and call any number in the USA for free.  When you dial your Google Voice number from a phone on your Voice account, you either listen to voice mail or press 2 to dial a call.  By pressing 2 you can dial any USA number and connect for free!  Or you can also use this to dial any international number and pay minimal fees!

This service will be coming soon to the iPhone and is already available for the G Phone.  Google Voice plus T-Mobile will equal extremely cheap calling and allow you to take the cheapest plan with My Favs.

When Will The Blogging Lifestyle End?

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009

People have said this blogging lifestyle can’t last forever.  The internet will change, along with the way people view websites.  Will we still be blogging in 10 years?  Will all those people enjoying the blogging lifestyle have to get 9 to 5 jobs?

What Does the Blogging Lifestyle Mean to You?
For many blogging means a medium to express their thoughts, and the freedom to write whenever or wherever they want.

Those enjoying full time blogging know that they have the freedom to live wherever they want, work when they want, and enjoy freedom and flexibility.  There is no boss telling you what to do.  You are your own creative boss and manager.  You call the shots.

The End of The Blogging Lifestyle
What would you do if your full time blogging lifestyle came to a crash? Did you spend all your money traveling the world and need to work a full time job?  Maybe you saved for this rainy day and have enough cash to get beyond blogging and open your own restaurant, hotel, store?

Whatever your plan, just be prepared for the day your blogging could come to an end.  Consider other ways you’d continue to earn the money you need to survive and enjoy your blogging while it lasts!

Blogging In Valle De La Luna With No Wifi

Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009

Here I am in the middle of the desert in Valle de la Luna (valley of the moon) in Argentina. After a 6 hour bus ride from Mendoza and a short stop in a strange town called San Juan I am in a hostel that has no wifi. All they have is one computer that they have been gracious enough to let me use to update my blogs. The connection is extremely slow and this is one reason why I will be spending only one day here, after an excursion of the valley of the moon.

One of the hardest things can be having an extremely limited connection to wifi internet. So I am doing my best to type with a spanish keyboard, a mess of posts that seems to be very difficult to do, but the determined will prevail.

I was able to write this post in the middle of nowhere using internet at the speed of dialup using a computer that is actually used for reservations at the youth hostel.

Tomorrow I am headed for another long journey on the bus. Though it cost about $7 for a journey, I´ve used the bus so much that I would like not to see a bus for a long time.
