Full Time Blogging for Over One Year

Tuesday, July 21st, 2009

I have been a full time blogger for over one year now.  Over this one year blogging full time has taught me plenty of valuable experience.  Blogging has shown me that it is possible to work for yourself, anywhere in the world, with no restrictions.  As long as I have an internet connection, I can work from Germany, Argentina, England, or anywhere I so desire.

Since rather than sit home and blog full time, I’ve used my time to gain new experiences, using the freedom the internet gives me to travel to Hawaii, the West Coast, Europe, South America, and the journey still continues.

Blogging to me isn’t just about the freedom to work wherever I want, but the freedom to do have the time and ability to do things that I couldn’t do working a normal 9 to 5 job.  I can study Spanish in Argentina, pick up an English accent in England, go whale watching in New Zealand.

Infected With a Wordpress Virus, Again

Monday, July 20th, 2009

Apprently I left some write permission open on Wordpress and I once again again, shortly, infected with a Wordpress Virus.  When I wokeup this morning I saw that virus scripts had be injected into my wordpress template.

So how did I remove this wordpress virus?
1. I made sure I had fresh copies of Wordpress.
2. Then looked in the template folder of my wordpress theme and check the index.php file.  The file had been infected with a virus script at the end of the file.  I deleted this script and disabled all write permissions to this file.
3. I made sure that this couldn’t happen again, by checking how I was infected the first time.

Yes you can get a virus on wordpress. Sometimes because you have access your ftp when your computer had a virus.  Hackers are scanning the web constantly for files they can infect.  Make sure you are protected!

Traveling by Bus Through Argentina and Chile

Sunday, July 19th, 2009

To travel from Argentina to Chile, I used the bus system. However North America has a lot to learn from the bus system in South America. When traveling by Bus in South America, particularly in Argentina and Chile, you will quickly learn that the buses are much better than those crappy Greyhounds you travel with in the USA. Here they serve you food, drinks, and the seats actually recline into a sleeping position. Often than not it was hard to forget that I wasn’t actually flying on a plane.

So far I traveled by bus from Argentina, Buenos Aires to Mendoza, through the mountains to Santiago, and then to Valpraiso by the Pacific Ocean in Chile.

Overall you will not be dissapointed if you decide to travel by bus through South America. Rather the real dissapointment would be trying that same travel through North America (unless traveling through a chartered bus).

The Most Amazing Website On The Internet

Saturday, July 18th, 2009

Remember how webpages used to look back in the 90s? Terrible designs and lots of animated gif images. However the most amazing website on the internet decided, yes that stuff is not dead, there is still a good chance you’ll love to see a page full of distractions.

When it comes to websites with multiple pages, maybe they are a bit overrated. Wouldn’t an amazing website just have every single page of the website on one long single webpage. Even more amazing is if you can actually load this webpage without your browser freezing.

So want to know where the most amazing website on the internet is? Click this link, if you dare.
