For expats that move abroad like I have, it might be time to stay out of Tokyo if you want to really stretch your dollar. Maybe head to London which is a lot of expensive of a city thanks to the weaker British Pound and lower property values.

Osaka in Japan has also overtaken Moscow to rise to number 2 in the most expensive cities in the world. Overall this confirms that Japan is probably the most expensive country in the world to live in. 128 million people are crammed in to this tiny island nation. No resources and high rent rates make Japan an expensive place to live.

Strangely enough, Caracas, Venezuela is now a more expensive city to live in than London.
