Watching TV Abroad With My Slingbox
Published by admin on July 10th, 2009 | Tagged Uncategorized

Since I travel very often, but still like to have little comforts like tv from home, my slingbox has been doing me well allowing me to watch tv abroad. My slingbox allows me to watch all my channels from home while I’m abroad, just a little feature that prevents you from getting homesick. Even though I’m not a fan of Burger King and Mc Donalds, sometimes I’ll just pop in for a burger and fries.

Slingbox basically controls your home entertainment system, by using infra red remote controls. The system then uses your homes internet to send the video straight over the internet to your oc wherever you are. Sure you still have to pay your internet and cable bill at home, but if you have a nice relative, maybe they’ll let you install it in their house?

If you were to buy the slingcatcher as well as the slingbox, you would be able to remotely watch your television on another tv, without the use of a computer. Although this extra device will run you an additional $200.

All in all the slingbox has been a great travel tool, allowing me to kick back and watch something from home once in awhile, without getting stuck watching tv in languages I don’t understand while traveling abroad.
