You wouldn’t realize it but when of the worst things that can happen is breaking something in your laptop when on a trip abroad. This happened to be my power adapter. Unless you are in Western Europe, North America, or any 1st world country, this could be a problem.
Breaking a laptop abroad in less developed countries could mean that you have to wait a long time to get the part you need due to shipping time needed. You could need to pay a bundle in shipping fees, or wait a long time.
In my case, I managed to break my laptop power adapter, which is fully under warranty for a new one, but the time I got the replacement, I would be waiting 15 to 30 days. I would have to first ship the cable from Argentina to the USA. Then they would ship the cable to my brother, from then he’d have to ship it to Argentina. By the time all these transactions took place, I would be paying $40 and waiting up to one month. Fortunately after research on the internet, I managed to find a cable for $44 usd.
