Buying Electronics In Argentina Prices, Taxes
Published by admin on August 3rd, 2009 | Tagged Uncategorized

Since this is Argentina you would think that paying for electronics would be cheaper, since people earn less.  However, though many things are cheaper, you have yet to realize that taxes here are 40 to 60% on imported goods.  Sure you don’t mind paying a bit more for a bottle of beer, but that Sony Playstation 3 for $1000 starts to seem expensive.  If you come to Argentina, make sure to bring any electronics you need BEFORE you arrive.

Recently my laptop cable died, and I’m almost afraid to see what it’s going to cost to fix this problem.  Meanwhile I’m blogging on a computer with a 20 minute time limit.

The main point is, that check the taxes on electronics on a country, such as Argentina, before going there.  You might be astonished at the prices of laptops, tvs, and even video game systems.  The Playstation 2 still sells at $300 here!
