I’ve tried to get my own blogs in a newspaper or other publication, and while I’ve come close, it is not easy to get featured in a Newspaper.  Sometimes the journalist for the newspaper expresses interest, but never comes through.  There are however some key things that will help your chances.

1. Being distinct – You don’t stick out by being the same.  Reddit, Digg, Propeller are all essentially the same thing.
2. Credibility – Are you to be trusted? No one wants to right about a questionable service that doesn´t seem like it can be trusted.  Build up trust and credibility to have more of a shot to be featured.
3. Contact news agencies – You could just try contacting different magazines and newspapers directly.  Maybe you’ll get lucky and they will be writing about blogs, who knows.  Tell them what you offer and why they should write about you.
4. Create an exciting news story – Problogger recommended creating an exciting story involving your blog that any newspaper would love to write about.  People love excitement and newspapers love to write about it.

Overall these are some of my best ideas for getting featured in a Newspaper. So far I have yet to be a featuring but maybe this ideas will help you in your future quest!
